Medi For All Tips:

  • If you already have a lot of spices in your pantry, save money and make your own Cajun seasoning blend. Try this recipe from Allrecipes.

  • Okra can be hard to find and expensive. Try using green beans instead.

  • If you can find it, frozen okra could also be used. Let thaw before using. Drain well and pay dry, then slice as directed. If extra water is released while cooking, let most of the liquid evaporate before moving forward.

  • If you would prefer to skip the butter, use another half tablespoon of olive oil in its place.

  • Be sure to use brown rice to get the full benefits of whole grains!
